Julie: I will give you the afternoon but know the clock is ticking. You have 4 hours left.

Trey: I don’t like time restraints when I’m out with a beautiful woman.

Julie: Take it or leave it.

Trey: How bout I leave it.

Julie couldn’t believe he said that after he worked so hard to get the time. He was about to get her in a huff. Then Trey continued to speak.

Trey: Why don’t we reschedule it for a day. I don’t want just an afternoon no more. I want a full day.

Julie: Trey Songz needs a day to change my mind about him?

Trey: If you were honestly giving me a chance I wouldn’t need a minute. I just want the rest of the 23 hours and 59 minutes to keep you in my presence knowing you wanna be there.

Juliethinks…oo he’s so smug…Fine. I’ll give you a day of my time. It better be worth it. I don’t like wasting it.

Trey: And I don’t like wasting my money but baby both will be well spent. Belee dat!

Julie walked into the boutique focused and ready to concentrate on work. She said good morning to everyone and walked straight to her office. Nicole and the other’s looked at each other noticing how impersonal she was this morning. They knew she had brunch with Trey and were dying to find out the details but she came in and didn’t say a word. Nicole told the other ladies she’d find out and bring them back the dish. They winked at her as she walked to the back. She put her ear by the door first to see if Julie might’ve been on a call. When she heard nothing but silence she knocked.

Julie: Come in.

Nicole: Good morning…again.

Julie looks up from the report she was looking at.

Julie: What’s up?

Nicole: Oh nothing.

Julie is still looking at Nicole wondering why she interrupted her.

Julie: Nicole…what is going on?

Nicole: You’re really not going to say anything?

Julie: About?

Nicole: Now we have amnesia. Trey!

Julie: What about him?

Nicole: COME ON!!! WHAT HAPPENED?

Julie slides her seat back and crosses her legs with her hands folded across her knees.

Julie: I got Jay to go with me.

Nicole: I would’ve loved to see Trey’s face with him on your arm.

Julie: Well it didn’t make a difference anyway. He forgot to take off his wedding band and Trey saw it.

Nicole busted out with laughter. Julie started laughing with her.

Nicolestill giggling…I’m sorry…but how…how could you forget that important detail?

Julie: I know. It was pretty embarrassing but I came clean and now he knows the truth.

Nicole: Ok but I gotta know Trey’s exact words when he saw the ring. What did he say?”

Julie: I’m humiliated enough Nicole. I’m not gonna rehash that, but what I will tell you is that we’re going to go out on a date.

Nicole: It’s about time you came to your senses. Where are you going to go? Do you know?

Julie: No not yet. He’s gonna call me I suppose and let me know when he’s available again.

Nicole: Ok we need to go shopping! You have to be on point this go round. GAME ON!

Julie: I’m not trying to impress Nicole. He has to accept me for who I am and if he doesn’t like it he can hit the road like Chris.

Nicole: Why are we even bringing up that loser.

Julie: I don’t know…anyway I have a ton of things to do so if you’ll excuse me I gotta get back to work…as should you!

Nicole: I’m going.

Nicole walks out of the office and back to join the others. Later that day Julie ended up getting a phone call from Trey. He told her to clear her schedule for Friday May 25th which was three weeks away. To her that timeframe was no big deal. She wasn’t pressed to see him at all. She looked on her itinerary and made sure nothing had already been scheduled first. When she noticed it was clear she told him it’s a date.

*******

Trey had planned on going all out for his date with Julie. When he said “the day” he meant the full day. A week before their scheduled date he called her up and asked if she didn’t mind flying to Miami Thursday evening so she could be there early Friday morning. He told her he had a full day planned and since she didn’t like to waste any of her time he was making sure he utilized it. She actually was soaking in the tub when she received the call. Julie loved Miami. She went for a convention but it was strictly business so she really didn’t have any time to take in the sites. She figured since their date was set up for Friday she could make plans to spend the weekend there and leave some time Sunday. Trey told her to write down this address because it would be the hotel that she would be staying in. Suddenly he heard water.

Trey: What you washing dishes?

Julie: No. You’ve kinda caught me in the middle of taking a bubble bath.

Trey: Damn I wish I was in that tub with you.

Julie: Excuse me? I hope you don’t think anything like that is going down once I get there Mr. Songz.

Trey: Actually it’s Neverson and I don’t expect anything but to get to know you and you realize that I’m not the person you think I am.

Julie felt her lips starting to curve into a smile. She resisted and fixed her face. She didn’t want him to hear her smiling through the phone.

Julie: Trey do you think you can text me the information seeing as though right now I can’t write it down?

Trey started laughing in the phone real slick.

Julie: What’s so funny?

Trey: You answered the phone to talk to me while you in the tub. I feel special.

Julie: Well I didn’t know if you were calling about our date so that’s why I answered it.

Trey: Ok Julie…whatever you say baby….even though to my knowledge cell phones have voice mail, but I’ma leave that alone. I’ma go head and let you get back to ya bubble bath and send you the info Aiight?

Julie: Ok.

Trey: Alright baby I’ll see you in a week.

Julie: See you Trey.

*******

Julie arrived in Miami early Friday morning. Her plane got in at 6:00 am. She was picked up by a stretch Hummer and taken to the “Hilton Bentley.” She was blown away and impressed with how Trey went all out for her, but still not convinced. She’s had her share of the flashy life with Chris so the vanity of it all had worn off. But she can appreciate someone’s effort and could truly tell Trey put in a lot for her. On the ride over he made sure the bar was stocked with many different drinks for her to choose from which she noticed none were alcoholic. That really surprised her not that she would’ve drank so early in the morning but for him to think that in depth. After she checked in and walked to her room not even ten minutes later someone was knocking on the door. She looked through the peek hole and assumed it was room service since she saw a cart.

Julie: Hi! I think you have the wrong room I didn’t request anything I just got here.

Gentleman: You are Julie Somerson right?

Julie: Yes…but…

The gentleman cuts Julie off and tells her that he has instructions to bring this to her room once she was checked in. It was two Edible Arrangement baskets. One with assorted fruit and the other with chocolate covered strawberries. She told the gentleman he could put the baskets on the table in the room. She went to get her purse to tip the gentlemen but he refused her. He told her it had already been taken care of and left back out with the cart. Julie smiled as she looked at the big fruit baskets. She thought it was a beautiful gesture. She also was wondering who was going to eat it all.  When she walked over to the table to take a closer look at everything she noticed the cards. Each basket had one. The chocolate covered strawberries card read: Just a little reminder of me…milk chocolate on the outside but sweet on the inside…I promise you one taste is never enough!

Julie shakes her head and smiles. Then she looks at the other card. It read: I can be a variety of things just like this fruit, but what they all got in common is they’re naturally sweet…don’t let the exterior fool you.

Julie: Wow! What is he up too and I still have no clue when I’m going to see him yet or even where he’s at. It’s too early in the morning for this Tremaine.

Julie decided to go in the room and get some rest. She was tired and since she hadn’t heard from Trey yet she figured she might as well sleep. Her phone started going off around 8:00 am. It was Trey. He told her to get up and get dressed. He would be picking her up to take her out to breakfast at 9:00 am. Julie really wanted to finish resting but she figured she might as well get up and get started on this day of theirs.

9:00 o’clock arrived and Trey was there. Julie thanked him for everything and told him how she appreciated how thing’s were so well planned and thought out. It was more than what she’d expected and couldn’t wait to see what was next. They had breakfast together just the two of them. Trey bought out one of the restaurants for a few hours so he wouldn’t have any interruptions. Their time spent there lasted a good two and a half hours from them talking; getting to know each other. Then he showed her around to a lot of his favorite places being her personal tour guide. She had her camera with her so they would get out of the car in certain locations and she’d take some pictures. Trey would be acting all silly and she’d snap a quick shot of him. She was really surprised to see this side of him. He was being very playful and relaxed, not all cool and arrogant. She liked this person.

Finally they ended up back at her hotel. Trey told her he had set her up for a spa treatment. He had one detail concerning business that had to be taken care of but he figured she would enjoy that while he was gone. Then he’d be back later so they could go to dinner and a basketball game. Julie was excited about seeing a game. Her first thoughts were Lebron James. Then she asked Trey who they were playing. He told her the Los Angeles Clippers. Her smile disappeared.

Trey: What’s wrong with you? You don’t like the Clippers or something?

Julie: No it’s not that. I think I might’ve ate too much.

Trey: Somebody got the bubble guts.

Julie: Trey stop! No I don’t.

Trey: It’s cool. You can pass gas around me. I know ya’ll women do it.

Julie laughs.

Julie: Look I’ll see you later. I need to go prepare for my spa treatment.

Trey: Carry ya ass to the bathroom.

She walks away from him laughing as she heads to the elevator.  Her stomach wasn’t hurting at all. What she couldn’t stomach was running into Chris. He played for the Clippers…
